At times, there may be a disconnect in our relationships as we evolve as people. In these relationships, we not only bring who we are, we also bring our own histories.
I am led by my core values of truth, compassion, connection, and justice. I have a desire to help couples and families repair this disconnect through patience, understanding, and improved communication. I am especially passionate about helping you build the confidence you need to advocate for yourself in a secure environment in which you feel supported and have the freedom to be yourself.
My experience with adolescents in school settings has expanded my interest in continuing to work with this population. It has been rewarding to be an advocate for teens as they navigate challenges such as mood disorders, trauma, and major life transitions. I enjoy using creative interventions with my clients to create a safer way to explore difficult themes in their lives or simply to expand their insight. Sometimes, all we need is a little distance between ourselves and the challenges we face in order to work through them.
As it is not always easy to allow ourselves to be fully seen by another, I aim to create a trusting bond that promotes resilience and courage. It is essential to feel supported during any phase of life, and sometimes we may need another to hold our “stuff” just for a little bit while we find our way back. When we turn our experiences into something hopeful, we are able to reclaim pieces of ourselves we thought we lost.
